After scrapping a bunch of songs I have 10ish that are…okay. They aren’t quite there yet, but goodish. Needs something. Horns. or Sitar? I won’t get carried away but it happens so easily sometimes.
I have one that I think is either the worst song ever or best. It drips with 80s synth a la say…Paul Simon’s You Can Call Me Al. In fact, I guess based on that assessment should I scrap that one too? Fudge. This may be a situation where I cannibalize parts of it for other stuff. This consumes more time. Hodor.
Other ones are aptly titled Wumpscut Loves You and VNV Nation STAAAATION (think Bill and Ted yelling this..) which to my mind says something about their musical leaning…may be more scrappers I dunno. Really this is just what I name them in Logic and I can tell the style by the name. For comparison, I also have one named Elephantitis. Your guess is as good as mine as to what that may signify.
Good news for you folks that love the guitar component, I am trying to incorporate more intricate guitar work on it. I know, I know, for someone who started out as a guitarist I haven’t really worked on that all that much. I think for a while I forgot how much I love to play it. Dinking around on a stolen classical guitar like when I was 12 is fun. [note: I say “stolen” when really it was “borrowed”..at length. Sorry Brad.] I have been playing a lot of random Nirvana and trying to figure out Police and Joy Division songs. Totally random I know, but I keep singing Transmission at work and I think this means something. Are you there Ian? He must be talking to me.
Anyways, this is where I am. This is how it is.

I have reworked these songs (I have about 10) a MILLION TIMES over. I still am not pleased with it totally. Thinking of really trying something different. What, though? There are just not enough hours in the day to be creative.
I have disappeared, yes.
As some of you know, my first project, Amphibious Assault, released a record in 2003, and I had mentioned that I wanted to do something special to commemorate the 10th anniversary. At the moment I am scouring the ‘scrap pile’ of discarded AA ‘songs’ (most are not songs, just melodies…what constitutes a song??!). I want to release some here. For free. Just cause I love thee. One promising one was supposed to be on On Better Days.. but I scrapped it due to it annoying the shit out of me. It’s bad when your own song annoys you. Anyways, I always say a fresh pair of ears can revamp any song so I hope to tweak it and get over my annoying perfectionism and just let the chips fall where they may.
I ebb in and out of music mode because I am making some pretty big changes - moving, possibly more school, possibly dusting off my acting face, new material, etc, etc..all in the effort to expand my empire (yes, hellbent on it might I add). Y’all know how I roll..and that’s all over the place.

At the same time whilst scouring the AA dung pile I am still writing that new stuff, and surprise surprise it sounds like neither AA OR my solo stuff. I can’t help it if I am conduit for my muses who cannot make their minds - a bit like the Golden Girls of Muses. Nah, I kid: It leans more towards AA style than solo stuff but much more subdued, non-aggressive, and ‘gothy’. Must be the rain. This is the first time I am writing 50/50 hardware and software so since I am a manual reading type gal it takes longer.

The music cupid has struck me finally and I have begun crafting the new stuff. It has been more than a year since Human, Conditional and I feel its time to start writing again. I posted the question on my facebook page (facebook.com/FallonBowman)! about whether or not it should be an AA release or FB release…and well I can never influence these things it just comes out.
So far its very very electro. Meoooooooow.

I had posted on the AA FB that 2013 will mark the 10 year anniversary of District Six. I am still brainstorming as to what awesomeness will have to happen to commemorate that. Also more than 1 year has passed since the release of Human, Conditional. I am pleased with its reception considering no support for it really,(and thank you SO much to those that continually support me..you know how you are *ehem* *cough* pretty much everyone that hangs out at MM with Draco and I) but still feel I have a looooot of growing to do. Still working on the collab with Sean @Produkt (clearly both him and I are very much the perfectionists so this may take a while) also hoping to get started on the other Vocal House/Electechnotronic project I talked about last year but a lot of the time these things get sidelined by life…you know how it is. I also for fun started a 90s rock tribute band with my grrl @sanguinolent and another long time friend, both London, ON expats…expect a lot of Spooky Rueben and Veruca Salt covers complete with lederhosen and other silly outfits. I just miss playing for the reason why I originally did it - for the love maaaaan. We have a name, but still need to figure out if its taken or not, and since I am LOCKED OUT OF F**KIN FACEBOOK I can’t do much.
Doing quite a bit of writing (non-musical) lately. Yes, I write the storiez sometimes. I’ve been reading quite a bit of Victorian Lit lately so I dunno maybe it’ll come out as some sort of steampunk murder mystery about a foot fetishist shoe shiner who falls in love with Jack the Ripper after he shines his shoes. (*actual storyline..don’t steal it bro) It’s funny when I get creative it can come out in so many different ways: plays, short stories, paintings…sometimes I wonder when the music inspiration is going to happen since that has eluded me for a while now. It’s very discouraging.
BTW - No Manic Mondays (Draco and I’s monthly bonanza @ www.tksradio.com) this month - I’ll be going to DUBAAAAIIIII for work. Draco and I have elected to have an Arabian themed show and I will report on how interesting Dubai is and how many camels I managed to steal.
Hoping to within the next month or so get some new pics up and change a few things. I’m sure staring at the same photos is boring :P
Also wanted to give a shoutout and thanks to UAOMradio.com(@uaomradio) who will be doing a SPECIAL on me, in APRIL! More details to come when I get them.

Hello hello!
Happy New Year to you all. 2012 has started off not too bad for me, and I am currently programming what to do next with the music and with life!
Currently I am trying to upgrade my brain skills (aka go back to school), but I foresee the rock in my future…just haven’t set a date yet.
And for those of you asking for tour dates…I am still planning on doing that bike tour! I kid you not!

To live in bitterness will only snuff out the flame inside you. I find myself, like an old lady on a rocking chair watching the world go by, becoming increasingly reflective as of late. Both good and bad, as you can imagine, because with reflection comes the realization of certain truths, and sometimes the truth hurts, right? Day after day…what are the joys in life? Sometimes we forget. What does it all MEAN?!?!
What am I on about! Let’s get to the rock. We got a show coming up this Saturday for Nuit Blanche! Doors at 9, admission is free for ladies! Inconceivable!
